The Concept of Unity of Command

The Concept of Unity of Command dictates that after all the discussion has been heard, the “why” of the situation thrashed out, every person has had his/her day in court, and a decision has been made – all will unite in support of the decision. Loyal opposition stops and loyal support comes into being.

This means that each person wholeheartedly supports the action taken. A member of the team does not indicate disapproval by innuendo, body language, or blaming “they.” After having his/her say, the opposition is forgotten and all the members of the team unite in full support of the action to be taken.
