Programmer – AREV/PICK

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Summary:

The Support Analyst/ Programmer develops and maintains an appropriate database structure to facilitate efficient and effective data retrieval and writes programs to store, locate and retrieve data for processing and reporting purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with Business analyst and other support staff to determine needs of program modifications or enhancements
  • Edits or adds programming to resolve software problems
  • Researches, develops and designs relevant data structure as needed
  • Programs and unit tests system enhancements, reports and imports as assigned
  • Develops and executes comprehensive test plans to validate that programs are working properly
  • Writes test cases that address all possible scenarios based on technical requirements
  • Participates effectively in project requirements, development and testing status review meetings
  • Monitors accuracy of incoming data and performs reconciliation processes
  • Facilitates HIPPA-compliant data exchanges
  • Performs plan build functions and tests logic prior to implementation
  • Provides source code management/control
  • Moves programs, dictionary items and related files to target systems
  • Participates effectively in project requirements, development and testing status review meetings
  • Communicates software changes to end users and provides end user training as needed
  • Performs help desk support to end users

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of programming experience - (AREV, PICK)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of database experience including database tools

Education and/or Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, four years of technical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Computer Skills:

Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, data encryption, FTP file exchange protocol, third generation programming language, proprietary software and an above average understanding of database structure.

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
